Democracy and Citizenship

By: Denisha

Everyone that was or is born in the United Sates is already a citizen. All citizens have the right to vote if, they are 18 or older. Voting lets you help choose run part of your country.

After the Civil War, Africans gained their citizenship. They also gain their right to vote.  People in the United Sates have responsibility and rights.  They have to obey the laws that the government has put out like wearing seat belts, car seats for kids under 9 years old, speed limits for bike riders, J walking, and you have to be 16 or older to be behind a wheel or car.

Laws help our world be a safer place for you and your kids. Laws help seniors stay safe, and also kids that go to the bus stop.
