 Life In America

When the English arived in America they didn't know how to live in the wilderness.

Life in America was revolved around beliefs and family.Life in America was harsh and many people died of dieses.

Family 

Familys  was revolved around friends,families,worship,and learning.A big family was not unusal in colonial America.Big familys were needed in colonial America because they needed to be clothed ,feed,and sheltered.Men were considered the master in ALL familes.

Church

The church was called the "meetinghouse" they often meet there for other things like town meetings and court.They thought church should be a all-day event.The New England colinists were mostly Puritans and were strict about there lives.The middle colonies had a mixture of religions including Quackers,Catholics,Lutherans,Jews,and other religions.The southern colonies had mixture as well as the middle colonies they had Baptists and Anglicans.Church renforces peoples thoughts and minds about church and religion.

Food

People who lived near the Atlantic ocean caught fish and whales.They sold whale blubber and fish at fish markets.The native amiercans showed them how to set there own corn and fish.Farmers who grew corn,tobacco,barley or rice gave there crops to a town market, where they sold to people in the town or the traders who shipped the goods to a town or colonies.

school

In the new england colonies parents believed there kids should learn about cristianity.after that there parents taught there children to read so they could read the bible.New england villages had more than 100 families.They set up grammer schools to teach boys.Latin,math and other subjects were incorperated into the school classes.Girls could read but could not go to school or college.

 Slaves

South carolina wasnt the only colony who owned slaves.Southern colonies countinued to grow tobacco,cotton,and rice.the slaves grew this to earn money to feed there familes.
