The French and Indian War
The French and Indian war was on the Ohio River. Many Native Americans lived in that section of land but since earlier explorers have been to that land already from the French and British they both believed it belonged to them.
Around 1750 the French were to send their soldiers to make the British leave. They even made forts along the east coast. The British thought of this as war and prepared.
In 1753 George Washington was to go over the Appalachians to get the French to get the French to leave. Dinwiddie ordered a small group of soldiers to Virginia once the French said they would stay. The soldiers were to build a fort at forks of the Ohio River.
