Coming To America

                            Most of the families of the United States immigrated or have ancestors who immigrated here in some point in time. Before the year 1880 most of the Immigrants came to the united states from northern or eastern Europe. The reason the people immigrated from all over is the countries they were coming from were not so good so they came here to have a better life and to start all over. By the early 1900s there were twenty five million new Immigrants came to America. Many thousands of Russian Jews came to America to escape religious Prosecution. When immigrants came to America they did not just get off the boat and say I’m in America lets get a house and raise our family here it was a chaotic process. Immigrants went thru immigration stations on the east coast where they got off the boat a immigration station is a room where all the immigrants sit and wait to be called in to get there picture taken and then get all there papers checked to make sure there a legal immigrant. Most immigrants went to New York to get low paying jobs. The Europeans were allowed to go to California and stay there to work. Most Europeans had jobs like working in steel mills, coal mines, and factories and fit in. They had the same ethnic group as the normal Americans did so the Europeans went to the same church as the normal Americans did. But the Asians had different jobs than the Europeans did they still had the same low pay  but they worked different jobs like most Asians worked on farms or worked in small businesses  and there jobs were really dangerous. But America had so many jobs that were exported to other countries so then America became a very rich country. But there are good things about that and bad things about that. The good things are we are a powerful country and the bad things about that are there all so many immigrants that there are less and less Americans and in 1882 congress passed a law that all Chinese Immigrants had to go back to china and there are no Chinese immigrants for ten years because there were so many Chinese immigrants in the united states but allot the rest of the Asian countries were allowed to immigrate over to America the Japanese people came from Japan to take the places of the Chinese workers. But the Americans thought that the congress needed more laws on the immigration because there were immigrants taking their jobs and that is what it is like coming to The United States Of America.
