PROCLAMATION OF 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 is an order from a leader to the citizens. King George the third issued the Proclamation of 1763. The proclamation did not stop pioneers from continuing the push west into the frontier. The Proclamation of 1763 said that the British colonists would not buy land west of the Appalachians from the Native Americans, hunt on the lands, or explore the lands. Many British leaders in London blamed the Pontiac’s Rebellion on the back country traders and settlers.
