Vasco Nunez de Balboa

              Vasco Nunez de Balbo was born at Jerez de lCaballaros, Spain in 1475.  Balboa was native to and explored for Spain. Balboa was married to the daughter of the local Indian Cheif. One day he found out he had gone into debt so he  hid in a barrel that was being shipped to Columbia to escape from his creditors. At sail Balboa came out of hiding and ran into Fernandez de Enciso, the captain. Enciso was furious, so Balboa hid Enciso in the ship and took him back to Spain. Then Balboa took charge and lead the ship through the Atlantic Ocean to the Ithsmus Of Panama, in hope of finding gold and the Incan Empire.  One day Balboa decided to set out and discover the sea the Indians had discribed. With 190 spanish troops and 1,000 indians he cut his way across the mountains of Panama. September 25,1513 Balboa left his companians and climed the last peak of the mountains of Panama by himself! He did not find the Incan Empire or gold but found something better, The Pacific Ocean.  When Balboa got back to Spain he got mad at Enciso so he put him in jail for criminal rights. Later in 1517 Balboa was executed for commiting treason.
